Community and Outreach Programs
In early 2016, RXA launched an Outreach Program. The goals of the program are to serve the needs of the community, expose a broader audience to the work of Yuan Tze, and support our teachers.
Bill McMillan and Janis Scott, two teachers in Northern California, ran a pilot program in Northern California for cancer patients and their caregivers. The pilot project transitioned to an ongoing class organized in partnership with the Cancer Center at Marin General Hospital and Kaiser Permanente in Marin. The intention is to expand this program by partnering with other hospital and oncology programs in the area.
In August 2016, RXA teachers and students were invited to help expand the program. Thanks to a grant from an anonymous foundation, during this start-up period RXA is able to offer the classes at no charge to the organizations or participants, to compensate teachers for their teaching time, and, when necessary, can cover the cost of renting a space for the class.
You can play a valuable role in supporting Ren Xue and our new program by introducing us to organizations and contacts that might be interested in participating. Contact outreach@renxueamericas.org
Many thanks!
