The Chinese zodiac, also known as the shengxiao or “born resembling”, is a system that dates back to the Han Dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD). It is based on a twelve-year cycle, each year being represented by an animal sign. These signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.
